★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 1,201 reviews · 9 hours (approx.) · from $216

Tour Parmigiano Reggiano, balsamic vinegar, and prosciutto makers outside Bologna, with tastings, wine, breakfast, and a festive lunch.

“Loved that the tour included three of the area’s most prominent foods, our favourite was the one for parmigiana reggiano as you see it made from start to finish. At the balsamic vinegar factory, you mostly just look at the aging barrels and do a tasting alongside breakfast. We also found the exact same vinegar for less than half the price afterwards when we travelled to Asia, so I would call that part extremely touristy. Lunch was bizarre and just as long as the tour in the morning, not for introverts or people who just want to learn about the foods of the area. We really just wanted to leave…”

See Bologna from an open-top bus, hop off at major sights, then use food vouchers in a historic market for local bites.

“The tour itself was very good and a great way to get an overall view of Bologna. The food tasting I thought was a bit of a delusion it consisted of a few vouchers for sampling various things - in some cases just a discount for some products. I booked the tour online and it was very overpriced compared to picking up the bus at any of the designated stops.”
